A prison officer who embarked on an improper relationship with a convict has now been locked up herself. Megann Gibson, 26, had sexual communications with gangster Ryan Horan whilst employed at West Yorkshire's Wealstun jail.

She then bombarded the lag's mother with more than 900 messages in a desperate attempt to maintain her romance, a court was told. The disgraced officer also reportedly permitted the prisoner access to forbidden sections of the Category C resettlement facility, whilst also visiting his home.
