Golden Valley Electric Association filed its rate study case with the Alaska Regulatory Commission on Monday, kicking off a narrow window for public comment.

In its submission, GVEA requested a series of changes to its overall rate structure — the first comprehensive overhaul since 2016.

“GVEA believes that the 2025 Rate Study will enable GVEA to maintain financial health while striking a balance between member optionality and control and encouraging operational efficiency for the utility’s system,” the utility states in its filing.
