SANFORD, Fla. – New video from the Sanford Police Department shows first responders save a family dog from a house fire.
All adults and children had been safely evacuated from the burning home early Tuesday on Appaloosa Court , but Sanford police learned upon reaching the scene that the family dog, a husky, was still inside, according to the post.
Body-worn camera footage shared to Facebook shows officers Pagan and Diaz entering the home and carrying the dog out to the sidewalk. Though the video is largely blurred, police said the husky appeared lifeless in its cage.
Pagan cared for the dog for about 30 minutes — cooling, hydrating and providing oxygen to the pet — before it could be seen raising its head and giving the family a moment of relief, the video shows.
