CALHOUN COUNTY, S.C. — Motorists traveling along I-26 in Calhoun County should be aware that the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will begin demolition of the SC Hwy 6 bridge over I-26, at Exit 136 for the towns of North and St. Matthews, on Monday and Tuesday, December 9 & 10, 2025.
Traffic will be rerouted around the demolition site at the Exit 136, using exit and entrance ramps while work is being done overnight, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
SCDOT advises motorists to follow the signage in the area informing drivers of the temporary traffic pattern and that law enforcement will be present to direct traffic at key intersections.
