On Friday, the CREC Student Senate was busy sorting, organizing and packing donations headed to Jamaica.

Multiple filled barrels will arrive in Hanover, one of the communities heavily impacted by Hurricane Melissa. The items will then be handed out by school leaders in Jamaica.

CREC Magnet Schools superintendent Dr. Sasha Douglas was born in Jamaica and happened to be on the island when the storm hit. She said the devastation she saw first-hand was like something out of a movie.
