A Pontiac man accused of beating and choking his young child has opted out of trial for two felonies he faces.
At a Dec. 3 hearing before Oakland County Circuit Judge Nanci Grant, Cedric Diequell-Stevens Moore, 38, pleaded no contest to second-degree child abuse and fourth-degree child abuse of his 9-year-old son.
The child suffered welts on his torso, and abrasions near his eye and neck, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
