BANGOR, Maine — A former Hampden and Orrington resident now living in Florida was sentenced to two years in federal prison Wednesday for attempting to evade nearly $1 million in taxes and concealing assets during a bankruptcy proceeding.

Paul Archer, 46, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Bangor by Judge Stacy D. Neumann to 24 months in prison and three years of supervised release.

According to court records, Archer operated a profitable online marketing business that promoted software installation services, earning several million dollars between 2013 and 2015. An IRS audit in 2016 assessed a federal tax debt of about $1 million for those years.
