SPARTANBURG, S.C. —
A coach, who authorities say caused a disturbance and resisted arrest during a middle school basketball game in Spartanburg, South Carolina, is facing several charges.
The Spartanburg Police Department said on Dec. 4 the school resource officer at Carver Middle School was approached by the principal who requested that the coach for a visiting team, Nicholas Jerel Brannon, be removed.
Brannon is listed on the Boiling Springs Middle School website as the 7th grade boys head basketball coach.
The principal told the SRO that Brannon was involved in a disturbance with school staff, parents and attendees.
