Labour is accused of putting a trade deal ahead of the rights of a British man held captive for eight years in India, as his family slam Yvette Cooper for the "most disappointing" meeting ever. Jagtar Singh Johal, from Dumbarton, near Glasgow, was snatched from the street and arrested by Indian authorities in November 2017, just weeks after his wedding in the country.
Jagtar had been a prominent blogger in the UK campaigning against human rights abuses against the Sikh community in India.
The 38-year-old is currently the longest arbitrarily detained British person and his family are terrified after last month he was moved to Tahar Prison, in New Delhi, which has been described as being plagued with "rampant violence".
Back home in Britain, Jagtar's family have been fighting tirelessly
