A man arrested after a fatal crash on the A12 in Saxmundham has been released on bail.
Police were called by the East of England Ambulance Service just before 2pm on Thursday, following reports of a collision.
This involved a grey Nissan Almera and a red Mazda at the junction with the B1119 Rendham Road.
The driver of the Almera, a man aged in his 80s and the sole occupant in the vehicle, died at the scene.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service extracted two passengers from the Mazda.
They were both, along with the driver of the Mazda, taken to hospital for treatment of injuries not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs after a positive roadside drug test.
