The River Raisin Ballet Company will present "The Nutcracker" Dec. 5-7 at the River Raisin Centre for the Arts.

According to a community announcement, the performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Dec. 5, and 2 and 7 p.m. Dec. 6. A final showing will take place at 2 p.m. Dec. 7.

A cherished tradition

The Nutcracker has been a holiday tradition for more than two decades, attracting audiences from Monroe County and neighboring areas such as Toledo and Ann Arbor. This year's production will feature more than 80 dancers from the River Raisin Dance Academy, showcasing choreography, hand-painted sets and costumes, according to the announcement.
