OAK GROVE, Ky. (WSMV) - With the holiday season underway and food prices still rising, hundreds of military families got a little help through Operation Homefront’s annual “Holiday Meals for Military” event.

On Friday at the Oak Grove Community Center, Operation Homefront provided roughly 275 families with gifts, toys, gingerbread kits, breakfast bundles, and $75 Walmart gift cards to help with holiday meals. In total, more than 800 children were served.

Charlotte Merriam, Senior Director of Volunteers for Operation Homefront, said families in the Fort Campbell area rely on support like this during a financially difficult time.
