Gather around the couch and snuggle up because “Frosty the Snowman” is coming to a TV near you.

The 1969 animated short film is making its NBC debut today, Thursday, Dec. 4, and there’s a couple ways that people can tune in and watch.

“Frosty the Snowman” follows a jolly snowman who comes to life after a group of children place a magic top hat on the icy figure. It first aired on Dec. 7, 1969 on CBS and continued to run on the network for the last 55 years before now making its way to NBC.

The festive film, written by Romeo Muller, was inspired by the song “Frosty the Snowman” by Steve Nelson and Jack Rollins. A number of sequels and spinoffs, including “Frosty’s Winter Wonderland” and “The Legend of Frosty the Snowman,” have since been released.
