VANCOUVER — Author Rick Riordan is beaming as he watches Walker Scobell nail a pivotal sequence from an upcoming episode in Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians .

“This is a scene that fans have been looking forward to for a long time,” Riordan says smiling as Scobell, who plays the titular hero, and his castmate Leah Jeffries (Annabeth) shoot inside an elaborately decorated version of C.C.’s Spa and Resort from his books. “Everybody wants to see Percy interact with the guinea pigs. I’ll leave it at that.”
