A main character will soon be leaving the CBS drama “Matlock.”

News broke in October that David Del Rio, who plays Billy Martinez, had been fired from “Matlock.” His termination came after his costar Leah Lewis, who plays Sarah Franklin, accused him of sexual assault .

An internal investigation was conducted the same day the alleged incident was reported. Del Rio was then escorted off set. He has not publicly addressed the allegations, and CBS declined to comment at the time.

Del Rio did not film any additional episodes of “Matlock” after his firing. However, episodes that he filmed prior to his exit are still airing. Del Rio appeared only briefly in episode 7, which premiered on Thursday, Dec. 5.
