JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) - Construction is complete, and the Graveline Road Bridge in Jackson County reopened Friday at 8 a.m.
“We sincerely appreciate the public’s patience, cooperation, and understanding throughout the repair process,” county officials said in a statement.
It’s been a decade since Jackson County officials secured the first grants to replace the Graveline Road bridge.
In 2014, the state gave the bridge a failing grade, and work to replace the bridge began in January 2024.
The old bridge had a history of flooding, which wore down the structure. The new bridge has been raised about 10 feet, and sidewalks have been added to make it safer for pedestrians and fishermen.
