President Trump is finally getting his peace prize — though not from the Nobel committee.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino on Friday honored his “close friend,” Trump, with the first-ever FIFA Peace Prize during the World Cup draw at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. It was created to “reward individuals who have taken exceptional and extraordinary actions for peace and by doing so have united people across the world,” according to FIFA.
“This is what we want from a leader — a leader that cares about the people,” Infantino said about Trump, who donned a gold medal while he received a gold trophy engraved with his name. The FIFA leader also told the President, who has long campaigned for his own Nobel Peace Prize, that “this is your prize, this is your peace prize.”
