Rye will take on Brighton in one of five New York state football championship games at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse.

The NYSPHSAA Class A football championship game is at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5. Tickets are $16 and are available on Ticketmaster .

Rye (13-0) had won four state titles, but all came in Class B. The team is averaging 41.7 points per game.

Brighton (11-2) lost two of its final three regular-season games but has won six playoff games in a row. The Bruins won their first-ever sectional title last season.
