1Tire thief caught on video leaves Newark car on crates during early morning heist
NEWARK, NJ – Police are searching for a suspect caught on surveillance video stealing all four tires from a parked vehicle and leaving it propped on crates in a Newark neighborhood in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The theft happened around 3:20 a.m. on December 2 in the 100 block of Emmet Street. According to officials, the suspect pulled up in a gray Honda Civic, parked behind the victim’s Honda, and proceeded to remove all four tires. When police responded to reports of suspicious activity, they found the car sitting on crates where the tires had been.
The suspect, whose image was captured on security cameras, was wearing a white hoodie, blue jeans, and blue-and-white sneakers during the incident
