LINCOLN, Neb. —
Nebraska's standout running back has declared for the 2026 NFL draft.
Emmett Johnson announced his decision on social media Friday and thanked his family, Nebraska coaches, Husker players, fans and more.

Johnson was named the Big Ten's running back of the year and All-Big Ten first team by coaches and media after his breakout junior season.
He led the Big Ten with 1,451 rushing yards this season — an average of 120.9 per game — and also had 12 rushing touchdowns.
Johnson posted the first 1,000-yard rushing season by a Husker since 2018 and is the only player in program history to have 100 rushing yards and 100 receiving yards in the same game.
The junior was also a semifinalist for the Maxwell Award and the Doak Walker Award.
