GASTONIA, N.C. — An investigation is underway after someone opened fire at Eastridge Mall in Gastonia on Thursday, police say.
Investigators say the shooter fired at a woman and into the mall, damaging the doors. Two people ran from the scene after the shots were fired.
No arrests have been made as of 2:15 p.m. Friday.
City View Commercial, the owner of Eastridge Mall, issued the following statement to WCNC Charlotte:
"We are aware of the incident that occurred at Eastridge Mall and are fully cooperating with the Gastonia Police Department as they continue their investigation. The safety of our shoppers, tenants, and employees is our top priority, and we remain committed to maintaining a secure environment at the property.
