SHREVEPORT, La. -- For the second time in as many days, a person has been arrested for arson in connection to fires in Shreveport.

The Shreveport Fire Prevention Bureau, with assistance from the Shreveport Police Department K-9 officer, arrested Amanda Suazo, 38, for aggravated arson.

Shreveport Fire Prevention Officer Jeffrey Witte said Suazo's arrest stems from a fire early Tuesday morning in the 800 block of Rebecca Street located in the Springlake/University Terrance neighborhood.

Engine 9 arrived on-scene within 6 minutes of the report and and found light smoke coming from the front door of a one-story house. The flames were quickly extinguished.

One person inside the house suffered minor injuries as a result of the fire, Witte said.

No firefighters were injured.
