DALLAS — Crews are responding to a major water main break on Mockingbird Lane in Dallas Friday afternoon, leading to the closure of a stretch of the road.

Dallas Fire-Rescue says Mockingbird Lane is closed in both directions between Forest Park Road and Maple Avenue. The first dispatches to the call happened around 2:35 p.m.

WFAA chopper footage showed water rushing down the road, with the area blocked off by traffic control devices and crews working in the area.

Dallas Water Utilities issued the following statement on the break:

"Dallas Water Utilities repair crews are on site and working to isolate a 12” water pipeline at the 2400 block of W. Mockingbird Lane. At this time, it appears that the pipeline was damaged by a contractor performing boring activities in the area. All impacted
