CHICO — The name of the woman killed in a shooting Wednesday has been released in an email sent to Chico State students by President Steve Perez.

Biological sciences major Alexandra Wynter, 28, died in the shooting, which police say is believed to be connected to domestic violence, Perez wrote.

The statement was issued to students, and confirmed Wynter was a student at the school.

“Alexandra first became a member of our campus community in fall 2016 and was poised to graduate this spring,” the email said. “She returned to Chico State while working at Enloe Health, and her faculty describe her as personable, engaged, and serious about her studies.”
