LIBERTY COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) - Liberty County deputies are getting ready to move into a new sheriff’s office and are also opening a new jail.
The public was invited to tour the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office’s brand-new facility Friday. While in the next few weeks, deputies and inmates are expected to move into the new jail.
The Liberty County Sheriff said this facility is expected to replace the oldest operational jail in Florida, as it was built back in 1942.

“It carried serious safety concerns and significant liabilities not only for our deputies and inmates, but for our county,” a LCSO deputy said in a Facebook live.
