The Twins aren’t planning to trade Joe Ryan, according to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal.
The Red Sox targeted the right-handed starter at last summer’s trade deadline, but their offer was “not even close,” per MassLive’s Chris Cotillo. With Boston still in the market for starting pitching, there was thought that the two could revisit a potential deal this winter, but now that’s looking less likely.
Rosenthal reports the Twins are planning on keeping Ryan, Pablo López and Byron Buxton as they push to compete in 2026 rather than tearing down for a rebuild.
