How defense gave Belton-Honea Path a chance in SCHSL football championship loss

ORANGEBURG – Belton-Honea Path’s defense held on as long as it could in the South Carolina high school football state championship game for Class 3A.

The Bears couldn’t generate any offense, however, until late in the fourth quarter Dec. 5 and lost, 28-7 , in the SCHSL Class 3A final against Oceanside Collegiate at a rainy Oliver C. Dawson Stadium and Willie Jeffries Field.
