The Green Bay Police Department is seeking witness information as it investigates "a chain reaction" of crashes that occurred on Interstate 41 Dec. 3.

Around 5:15 p.m. Dec. 3, Green Bay officers were dispatched to northbound I-41 between Lombardi Avenue and West Mason Street exits for a traffic incident, the department said in a Dec. 5 news release . Officers learned a dark-colored sedan may have been traveling erratically across all lanes of traffic, causing some drivers to brake abruptly and leading to multiple crashes, the release said.

A 22-year-old Howard woman, who was driving one of the vehicles involved, was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident.
