BRIGHTON — Livingston County's Ed Bambas went viral after telling his story to Australian influencer Samuel Weidenhofer. Now, his life is forever changed.
"I cannot express any words (for) how thankful I am to all of the people," Bambas told media on Dec. 5, as tears filled his eyes. He'd just been presented with a check for more than $1.7 million.
It's only been four days since a video of Weidenhofer speaking to Bambas at the Brighton Meijer, where the 88-year-old veteran works, was posted. Weidenhofer is known for spreading positivity and fundraising for those in need.
