MORGAN COUNTY, Tenn. — A man took a guilty plea on Friday after a crash months ago that claimed the life of one man and seriously injured his wife.

Investigators blame a driver high on drugs for crossing the center line in Morgan County. The construction truck slammed head-on into the couple.

Williard Gunter III, the driver, signed a plea deal as Bobbie Hester's family looked on. Earlier in the week, 10News spoke to Bobbie Hester's wife, Linda , about her husband.

Gunter pleaded guilty to two charges. For the vehicular homicide by intoxication charge, he will serve 11 years and lose his driver's license for 10 years.

On the vehicular assault charge, he will serve three years and lose his license for three years. Those sentences will be served at the same time. He will also have to c
