The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is asking Spanish Springs residents to stay alert as investigators look into a series of small brush fires reported over the past several months.
Local fire agencies and sheriff’s deputies have responded to multiple fires in brush areas near neighborhoods on the west side of Pyramid Highway, stretching from Dolores Drive north to Eagle Canyon Drive, WCSO said. None of the fires damaged structures or threatened homes, authorities said, but their proximity to residential areas has raised concern.
Investigators are working to determine who is responsible and what may have motivated the fires.
