RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an arson that took place in Spanish Springs.

They say a series of small brush fires have been reported in the area over the last several months. In some cases, the fires have been set in residential areas on the west side of Pyramid Highway from Dolores Drive north to Eagle Canyon Drive.

None of the fires resulted in any structural damage or in an immediate threat to nearby homes.

Police are now working to determine the circumstances surrounding the fires and to identify those involved. They say they do not know the intent behind the fires at this time.

Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious vehicles or persons, unusual activity, or signs of smoke.
