NEW GLARUS, Wis. (WMTV) - Downtown New Glarus is looking more charming and European than ever with the return of the Christkindli Market.
The outdoor festival transforms the village into a festive winter marketplace.
Dozens of mini chalets offer festive food, handcrafted art, carolers and wassail holiday stout.
The event is in its fifth year, and Annie O’Connor, executive director of the New Glarus Chamber of Commerce, has helped put it on since the beginning.
“I couldn’t even tell you what the first year was like,” she said. “We had these chalets, we had a few people interested in it, and now we have to turn people away. It’s one of the most sought-after Christmas markets in Wisconsin.”
The market is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
