SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - A holiday tradition combining art, athleticism and aesthetics hits the Morris Performing Arts Center in South Bend this weekend.
Southold Dance Theater will present “The Nutcracker” on Saturday and Sunday.
Friday’s youth matinee packed the Morris with children.
“Kicking off the weekend with the youth is amazing because their energy is just a different vibe than everyone else’s and it encourages our students and lets them know the hard wasn’t in vain,” said Sarah Taylor, executive director of Southold Dance Theater. “They’ve been working since August there are over 200 children in the production not counting our company of over 45 and it’s just really amazing to be able to perform for littles and spark that interest really early and start a tradition.”
