BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Southern University has cleared its Alpha Phi Alpha chapter of hazing allegations and lifted the cease-and-desist order that halted all fraternity activities during the fall semester.

In a letter sent Tuesday to the Beta Sigma chapter president, the university’s Office of Student Leadership and Engagement said the fraternity was found not to be in violation of Southern’s Student Code of Conduct or established Greek Life protocols. The order is lifted effective immediately.

The investigation began in October after the chapter was directed to stop all activities while the Office of Student Conduct reviewed allegations of potential violations of Louisiana hazing laws, university policy and Greek Life rules.
