CANTON — A remarkable playoff run in a season full of highs and lows for Central Catholic’s football team ended with a lopsided loss to a dominant Columbus Bishop Watterson squad.
Despite intercepting Bishop Watterson standout quarterback Drew Bellisari four times, Central Catholic couldn’t capitalize and struggled to move the ball against a stellar Eagles defense. The Fighting Irish had just 179 yards of offense with four turnovers in being shut out 30-0 in the OHSAA Division III state final on Friday at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
