SAN ANTONIO — Good news for those trying to get to store on the northwest side for their Christmas shopping this year: After this weekend, you won't have any construction-related issues at the Loop 1604/Interstate 10 interchange.

The Texas Department of Transportation is capping off a year that saw five new ramps open up to drivers at the intersection as part of the ongoing Loop 1604 North Expansion Project. And while there will occasionally be nightly closures in December, this weekend marks the final time you'll have to deal with orange cones and frontage-road detours in that particular segment of the project.

The best news? Starting Dec. 19, there will be no closures until work resumes on Jan. 4.
