TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - Southern Arizona Congresswoman Adelita Grijalva claims she was pepper sprayed during a chaotic raid on North Grande in Tucson.
Grijalva shared her perspective on the incident. She says there were dozens of agents.
"There were about 40-50—I mean, there were a lot of them," Grijalva said.
Grijalva attempted to calm the agents, telling them to "calm down and get out." The agents instructed Grijalva and others to move back.
"I think that if I'm a sitting member of Congress and introduce myself and ask for information and they refuse to give it to me and treat me that way—they're treating everyone else the same or worse—and that's what we saw in this community," Grijalva said.
Tucson Mayor Regina Romero issued a statement, criticizing the actions of the federal agent
