FAYETTEVILLE -- In a crowd of hundreds at Thursday's welcoming ceremony for University of Arkansas football Coach Ryan Silverfield, perhaps nobody understood his coaching mind better than Grant Cook.

Cook, an Arkansas offensive lineman from 2007-11, briefly overlapped with Silverfield when the latter was an assistant offensive line coach with the Minnesota Vikings from 2011-13.

"We spent a lot of time at a picnic table outside of the dorm rooms that we stayed in when we were in camp, trying to learn a playbook," said Cook, seated inside the Walker Pavilion. "He was trying to teach me that playbook. So, we sat at that picnic table about every night together."

It's not unusual for NFL teams to live on college campuses for training camp, Cook said, and the table belonged to Minnesota State
