INDIANA (WAVE) - The redistricting battle in Indiana continues, with the state House of Representatives approving a new congressional map on Friday.
The map will go to the state Senate on Monday.
The new map, which the House approved on a 57-41 vote, would give Republicans all nine of the state’s House districts, instead of the seven they currently have.
If the Senate approves the map, Governor Mike Braun has already said he will sign it into law.
The map, which the House presented on Monday, would have significant impacts in southern Indiana.
Voters in Clark, Floyd, Harrison, Washington, Scott, Crawford, Orange, and Jackson Counties would remain in a District 9 that would include Southwest Indianapolis.
