The Atlanta Braves are trying everything they can to make sure their pitching staff doesn't end up as depleted in the new year as it did this season.
Atlanta saw every member of the opening day rotation spend time on the injured list this year, and used a franchise-record 46 pitchers during the course of the season. Since the regular season ended with a disappointing 76-86 record, the Braves have made lots of moves at the margins, snagging pitchers off waivers and sometimes cutting those same pitchers loose in just a couple of weeks.
On Friday, the Braves completed another series of pitching moves, bringing in two new major league arms from outside the organization and dropping another from the 40-man roster.
As the club announced on X, the Braves have claimed right-hander Osvaldo Bid
