When the Washington Capitals’ Jakob Chychrun and Matt Roy played together last season, they didn’t have much success.
On paper, the combination of an offensive defenseman such as Chychrun and a lockdown defender such as Roy should have given Washington a balanced duo that was effective on both sides of the puck. But their results didn’t match expectations, and they only played 154 minutes together across the season.
