WASHINGTON — More than a week after Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe and Spc. Sarah Beckstrom were ambushed by a gunman outside the Farragut West Metro station, the community in DC, and Wolfe's hometown in West Virginia continue to mourn and pray.

Beckstrom died the day after the shooting. Wolfe remains hospitalized with "very serious injuries," according to officials.

In downtown D.C., flowers, candles and photos now line the sidewalk near the Metro stop where both National Guard members were shot.

As Wolfe fights for his life, supporters gathered Friday night at Musselman High School in West Virginia, where he graduated, for a prayer vigil in his honor.

The vigil began with a moment of silence for Beckstrom. "A moment of silence for Specialist Sarah Beckstrom," an organizer said.
