LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – The Lexington Christian Eagles won their first state title in school history with a 33–28 victory over Owensboro Catholic in the Class 2A State Championship game.
The Eagles had reached the state title game multiple times over the years, but they were finally able to get over the hump on Friday afternoon.
Sophomore quarterback Nash Whalen, who scored four touchdowns in the title game, was named the Class 2A Championship MVP.
The Eagles finish the season at 12–3.
