PIKEVILLE, Ky (WYMT.) — In the D.J. Begley Boys Basketball Classic, Pike Co. Central faced Breathitt County and won, 64-47.
The Hawks went on a 8-2 run in to start the first quarter.
The Bobcats responded, bringing their deficit to two points.
Pike Central had a 12-10 lead at end of the first quarter.
Pike Central pulled out to a 10 point lead in the second frame, but back-to-back threes by Breathitt’s Payton Collins brought the Bobcats within four.
The Hawks led 32-23 at the break.
Al Holland’s unit would hold on to their lead, staying ahead of the Bobcats, 48-41 at the end of 3rd.
The Bobcats were in foul trouble throughout the game, recording 20 total through four quarters.
Owen Bowen had 18 points for the Hawks and Will Rowe had 11.
