Normal Community stayed undefeated with a road win over Peoria Notre Dame, Normal West held off Urbana, and Peoria High keeps its momentum rolling with a win over Bloomington. Peoria Richwoods and Peoria Manual are also headed home from Champaign with opening victories.

Canton honored former Little Giants and Illinois legend Dave Downey, naming their court after him, but Morton boys’ and girls’ won both parts of their doubleheader; Metamora defended its home court in a win over IVC.
