Families in a certain region of the UK are being gifted £110 supermarket vouchers to use at Asda , Morrisons , Sainsbury's and Tesco as a means to combat the escalating cost of living.

These vouchers are being distributed to low-income households as part of the Department for Work and Pensions ' ( DWP ) Household Support Fund, with additional local councils providing cost-of-living assistance in other areas of the UK.

The DWP initiative allocates a portion of a £742 million fund to local councils across England, aimed at aiding vulnerable households struggling to cover essential living costs during the winter months
