A significant snow blast is forecast to hit parts of the UK later this month, with weather charts predicting heavy snowfall for Thursday, December 18.
Northern England, North Wales, Northern Ireland, and western Scotland are the areas most likely to be affected by this wintry system.
The Midlands, however, is expected to escape the snow, instead experiencing very wet and windy conditions in the lead-up to Christmas .
The Met Office confirms the week ahead will be generally unsettled but mild for early December.
