COLUMBUS, Ohio — A juvenile was seriously injured in a shooting in the Hilltop Friday night, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

Officers were called to the 200 block of South Wheatland Avenue around 6:25 p.m. on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found the juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound.

They were taken to a nearby hospital, where they were listed as being in life-threatening condition.

Due to the severity of the juvenile’s injury, the Columbus Division of Police’s Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting.

Police said a preliminary investigation revealed this was a non-intentional shooting between family members. No charges have been filed.
