A Polk City mother has been sentenced to up to 25 years in prison for killing her 10-year-old son while driving high on meth.

Abby Lynne Amenson, 42, pleaded guilty in Polk County district court to vehicular homicide by OWI on Friday, Dec. 5, according to a news release from the Polk County Attorney's office. The head-on crash occurred in Ankeny in the summer of 2024 .
